Who We See:

WHOLE FAMILIES

With our pediatric, prenatal, and family focus, our primary patient base is not surprisingly, families! Many of our families come to us before baby is born and stay with us from there but we also have a lot of patients that find their way to us when their toddler has ear infections, their athlete has a sports injury, their teen has allergies, or they themselves are struggling with a multitude of symptoms. Beyond families, we work with a variety of individuals from all walks of life. As long as their health goals align with ours, working towards overall wellness, they’re likely a good fit for our office!

Pregnancy + Postpartum

Consistent chiropractic care during pregnancy can aid in reducing common pregnancy-related discomforts like low back pain, headaches, and neck pain. Adjustments also help to facilitate proper pelvic positioning, which allows your baby to settle into a more ideal position for birth, often resulting in shorter labor times and reduced risk of interventions. Beyond that, and perhaps more importantly, it increases the body's ability to function optimally. By minimizing stress and tension on the spine, your nervous system is able to do its job without interference, allowing your body to adapt to the ever-changing stressors of pregnancy and best support your growing baby.

In the postpartum period, chiropractic adjustments help to realign your pelvis and spine as they begin to shift back into prepregnancy positioning and can help to reduce the tension that may arise in the mid-back from breastfeeding. Additionally, adjustments support your nervous system through the healing process of delivery (vaginal or cesarean) and through changing hormones and added stressors from the demand of caring for a newborn.

Chiropractic Care in Pregnancy and Postpartum Supports:

  • Digestion issues (nausea, reflux, indigestion, constipation)

  • Optimal baby positioning for birth

  • Hormonal changes

  • More Balanced Sleep

  • General related pain + discomfort

  • Postpartum recovery

Newborn + Toddler

  • Proper pelvic alignment

  • Sciatica/low back pain

  • Round/uterine ligament pain

  • Breech presentation

  • Headaches

  • After birth healing

For those unfamiliar with chiropractic care beyond being a tool for pain management, the thought of getting your newborn or toddler adjusted may seem a little absurd since they’re most likely not in any pain at all. However, when you look at chiropractic care as a tool for supporting a healthy nervous system, it makes a whole lot more sense!

Your nervous system, which is the central point for the brain-body connection is in overdrive during the first couple years of life as your baby grows and develops rapidly! Subluxations (misalignments/fixations) of the spine, which are caused by birth (even gentle, non-traumatic births) and in-utero constraint, interfere with proper nervous system development. Assisted deliveries, including: c-sections, forceps, vacuum and induction procedures greatly increase the chance of stress to the infant's spine and nervous system.

By removing these subluxations early on, you help to set the stage for your child to grow and develop a healthy nervous system, which in turn helps them avoid common newborn and toddler struggles like feeding difficulties, reflux and bowel issues, colic, ear infections, and sleep disturbances.

These struggles are often disregarded by many care providers as ‘symptoms your child will grow out of’. Instead, what we find most often, is that your child grows into them and they manifest into larger and more complex issues like severe digestive problems, poor immune function, recurrent ear infections, negative sleep patterns, allergies, sensory issues, and more. In some cases, this goes even further, leading children to be in the 40% + of adolescents dealing with chronic health conditions such as autism, ADHD, asthma, and epilepsy.

Chiropractic Care in Newborns and Toddlers Supports :

  • Constipation

  • Colic

  • Reflux

  • Ear infections

  • Feeding challenges

Adolescent + Teen

  • Torticollis and Plagiocephaly

  • Immune support

  • Sleep

  • Milestone Delays

  • General wellness

Great staff, great atmosphere. Dr. Z is very helpful and you can tell he loves what he does. Went for some back and headache relief and now I'm hooked. He does amazing work. Very detailed and informative!

Update: I have been continuing to go, went through all three of my pregnancies, and it has helped a lot. Now all 3 of my kids go too and have been since birth. Nichole and Dr. Z are both so helpful and easy to work with.
